This is the family temple of the Maeda Nagatane family. Nagatane was the eldest son of Maeda Nagasada who established this temple. Nagatane married Sachi-hime, the first daughter of the first lord Toshiie, and was appointed Jugoitimotsushimanokami. The gate is in the Yakuimon style with Wakibeitsukisankarawabuki (a special kind of roof) and is estimated to have been built around 1650. It has a very elaborate and beautiful vermilion-lacquered miniature shrine called “Zushiiri Sharito.”
