Originally this temple was established in 1631 (Kanei 8) by shinonoi utanosuke a chief retainer of the Honda Family, who was impressed by the teaching of the devout Donen who shugan. shugan was a monk and a relative of Kimura Shigenari from the Toyotomi group. He made the 15th generation of the Daijoji Temple kenshitsu doneki and was the first monk of this temple. It has two paintings by Yada Shijoken as its treasure.
