Taichozan Shingon shu Hachakuji Temple

Between 724~729 (Jinki Period), Taicho, a great teacher of Buddhism, established this temple in Ichijodani in Fukui Prefecture, and it flourished as a temple for worshipping Mt. Hakusan. It was relocated to the site near the current plum tree grove in Kenrokuen garden when the 1st Lord of Maeda, Toshiie entered Kanazawa. In 1619 (Genna 5), it was replaced at the current site. It prospered as Maeda’s prayer temple.
