Ishibiki temple area in the southwest

Shinsh tani-ha Monkyoji Temple

First, this temple was established as Monkyo Bo (monk’s living quarter) near the current Kodatsuno 1-chome area in 1677 (Enpo 5). Then, in 1821 (Bunsei 4), it was constructed as a village temple at the current place, becoming Monkyoji Temple in 1880 (Meiji 13). In the sanctuary built in the temple style, there is a superb curved wooden panel with a golden Hosoge Hanakaso Monyo.
