This temple was established by Tanaka shodo from Asakawamura Village Shimo Tagami (current Tagamimachi Town in Kanazawa City) in 1889 (Meiji 22). It was named Matsushitamachi Sekkyojo (Matsushitamachi Town sermon hall) after its town’s name. It has attracted people as a place for hearing the teachings of Buddha. It became Daiganji Temple in 1947 (Showa 22).
