The center of the square box-like building is an open space as a courtyard, which separates and connects two contrasting interior spaces; one, with a vaulted ceiling, is for free browsing, and the other for quiet activities.
The library stands quietly but boldly with exquisite grace in Tamagawa Park. The interior is also delightful. The library and the brick building reused as annex are architectural masterpieces of world-renowned father-son architects, Yoshiro and Yoshio Taniguchi.
